The Village
Mon Coeur is centrally placed for all the main tourist attractions in the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne.
The village of Sainte Sabine Born, although small, has a church, Post Office, bakery, a café bar / pizza parlour and and two very good restaurants
Chez Edith, which has a beautiful outside terrace and serves as the local bar, coffee shop and restaurant. It serves a variety of well-priced meals and is well-regarded by the locals from most of the surrounding villages. It serves a very reasonable Menu du Jour at lunchtime, and a full A la Carte menu for lunch and dinner, including pizzas, grills and steaks.
Etincelles, which is a Michelin starred restaurant in the small hotel La Gentilhommiere , and is rated 4.5/5 stars on TripAdvisor.Serving only 16 diners at a sitting, the restaurant is run by a Chef and his wife and the service and innovative food is renowned in the area.
Mon Coeur lies 15 minute walk from the village, or a 2 minute drive in the car, and there is plenty of parking by the church.
For supplies, the bastide town of Villereal is only 7 minutes by car. This bustling town has a full size supermarket open all day without closing for lunch, and a Carrefour convenience store in the centre, open till 8pm through the week, and all day Sunday. There are also plenty of specialist shops in the market square, an exquisite patisserie shop, and a pharmacy.
There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars with outside seating to soak up the sun or recline in the shade.
If you have any medical problems, there are two english speaking doctors and an open surgery every day of the week.
