Mon Coeur is a one bedroom detached cottage for two, set deep in the Dordogne. It has been newly renovated and will be let for the first time through Summer 2013.
It sits in a private hamlet of five detached properties called 'Les Saisons', which nestle within 17 acres of pastureland and plum orchards. Each of the properties are traditionally made of warm honey-coloured stone and oak beams.
Mon Coeur, or 'my heart' in english, is set at the far end of the hamlet with its own private driveway, parking and large private garden to front and rear. It is the oldest building and was the only one featured on the Cassini maps drawn of the area in the 18th century.
The cottage is a couples retreat, with one large bedroom, dressing area and bathroom with roll-top bath and separate over-sized shower. Downstairs the open-plan kitchen, diner and lounge lead out through three sets of french doors to a wrap around decked terrace and large private garden. A cedar Hot Tub built into the decking is set to 32 degrees during the summer, which just feels like body temperature and cools you from the heat of the day. For cooler evenings and during Spring and Autumn the Tub can be heated to 35 degrees, the ideal temperature for soaking after a long cycle or hike around the local countryside.
If you are feeling more energetic we have a fully equipped gymnasium. With a full range of fitness machines, free weights and CV equipment, you can indulge in the regions traditional fayre of truffles, foie gras and duck, without having to feel guilty.
Only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport, yet completely secluded, the hamlet is at the very southern tip of Dordogne bordering on Lot et Garonne, best placed for browsing around the fairy tale castles and the medieval villages of this region.
