Ma Chaleur is the second of our cottages at Le Chaupre

Mon Coeur and Ma Chaleur are both one bedroom detached Perigourdine cottages for two adults, set deep in the Dordogne. They have both been fully renovated, retaining all the original charater whilst adding the modern conveniences that make a luxury stay.

The cottages sit in a private hamlet of five detached properties called 'Le Chaupre', nestled within 17 acres of pastureland and plum orchards.  Each of the properties are traditionally made of warm honey-coloured stone and oak beams.

Supper on the terraces

Mon Coeur, or 'my heart' in English, is set at the far end of the hamlet with its own private parking and large private gardens to front and rear.  It is the oldest building and was the only one featured on the Cassini maps drawn of the area in the 18th century.

Ma Chaleur or 'my warmth' in English, is central to the hamlet, with the same private gardens and facilities.  It is set on one level with high ceilings - which keep it beautifully cool in the summer; while the central fireplace warms the whole space in the winter.

Soaking tubs and hammocks in shady corners

The cottages are both couples retreats, each with one large bedroom and bathroom with roll-top bath and separate over-sized shower.  Downstairs there are three sets of french doors from the living areas to decked terraces and large private gardens.  Cedar Hot Tubs are built into both decks and are set to 32 degrees during the summer, which just feels like body temperature and cools you from the heat of the day. For cooler evenings and during Spring and Autumn the Tub can be heated to 35 degrees, the ideal temperature for soaking after a long cycle or hike around the local countryside.

Relax on the sunloungers

Only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport, yet completely secluded, the hamlet is at the very southern tip of Dordogne bordering on Lot et Garonne, best placed for browsing around the fairy tale castles and the medieval villages of this region.

What Guests Say

We had a lovely week in this beautifully renovated cottage. The owners attention to detail was first class and on hand to offer help if needed. The setting is very quiet, perfect to get away from it all and unwind. We loved the outdoor space with hammock and hot tub. Perfect for relaxing. Would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage.

A Grant

Great stay at Mon Coeur, very relaxing and quiet. The cottage is beautiful and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need including lots of magazines to flick though - we loved the fluffy robes.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to our family and friends.
