Mon Coeur and Ma Chaleur are both one bedroom detached cottages for two adults, set deep in the Dordogne. They have both been newly renovated and Ma Chaleur will be let for the first time through Summer 2015.
The cottages sit in a private hamlet of five detached properties called 'Le Chaupre', which nestle within 17 acres of pastureland and plum orchards. Each of the properties are traditionally made of warm honey-coloured stone and oak beams.
Mon Coeur, or 'my heart' in english, is set at the far end of the hamlet with its own private driveway, parking and large private garden to front and rear. It is the oldest building and was the only one featured on the Cassini maps drawn of the area in the 18th century.
Ma Chaleur or 'my warmth' in english, has the same facilites and is in the heart of the hamlet. It was used as the family home, the rooms all radiating off the central fireplace and all on one level.
The cottages are both couples retreats, each with one large bedroom and bathroom with roll-top bath and separate over-sized shower. Downstairs there are three sets of french doors from the living areas to decked terraces and large private gardens. Cedar Hot Tubs are built into both decks and are set to 32 degrees during the summer, which just feels like body temperature and cools you from the heat of the day. For cooler evenings and during Spring and Autumn the Tub can be heated to 35 degrees, the ideal temperature for soaking after a long cycle or hike around the local countryside.
If you are feeling more energetic we have a fully equipped gymnasium. With a full range of fitness machines, free weights and CV equipment, you can indulge in the regions traditional fayre of truffles, foie gras and duck, without having to feel guilty.
Only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport, yet completely secluded, the hamlet is at the very southern tip of Dordogne bordering on Lot et Garonne, best placed for browsing around the fairy tale castles and the medieval villages of this region.
